Today, 31 U.S. House members — all Democrats — wrote to President Barack Obama, urging him to end Administration stonewalling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ “Project Gunrunner,” and the “Fast and Furious” program under which border state dealers were encouraged to sell thousands of guns to suspicious buyers.
In the letter, spearheaded by Rep. Jason Altmire, D-Pa., the lawmakers called the investigative tactics “extremely troubling” and found the Justice Department’s failure to provide information to congressional investigators “equally troubling.” Saying that Americans deserve “prompt and complete answers,” the letter concluded with a call for the administration to help “get to the bottom of this serious allegation of federal law enforcement misconduct.”

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is working to buffer lawmakers from federal investigators. This is a bad idea. Special legal protections for politicians encourage unethical conduct.
Irvin B. Nathan, general counsel of the House of Representatives, sent a letter to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Monday about establishing a protocol on how to handle “hopefully rare searches and electronic surveillance involving members of Congress.” Mr. Nathan previously failed to negotiate such an agreement with the George W. Bush administration when Republicans controlled the House. His return to this effort isn’t surprising given the number of congressional Democrats facing accusations of ethical misconduct.”
She sure had a loud mouth about TRUTH investigations when it came to the opposition — now she’s quietly trying to protect her own party from being investigated after being called out by the CIA and the her water-boarding knowledge.

Executive privilege as reserved for the EXECUTIVE office. Pelosi is the speaker of the house — her intent is to pass a blanket law to protect the congressional body from unethical behavior. Seems to me all Americans should be pissed about this…it has nothing to do w/ Bush/Cheney.
Peace – I live in CA, which is now bankrupt in part due to her and her friends — I know exactly what Pelosi is…can’t say what that is though w/o violating Y/A guidelines.

Because she herself is guilty as charged. She knew, others knew, THEY VOTED ON IT TO BE ACCEPTABLE. They were given MANY, MANY sit downs and discussions on this very topic. THEY WERE THE ONES TO SAY OKAY TO THE WATERBOARDING.
