Is “lumping” people in categories more prevalent now?
Question by Rick G Agent: Is “lumping” people in categories more prevalent now?
I see more lumping for the left and right than ever before.
I’m neither, but if I say the war is not winnable I’m a left leaning liberal. If I say the democrats only have “passion” when they have the numbers or public support, I’m a right winged lemming?
I believe “pork” has no business in the funding. If you want to set a date, set a date. Hell, make the date tomorrow, but don’t buy votes with BS funding just to secure votes. It’s as bad as continuing to fund a war of whack a mole.
Can I help it I don’t believe in the entire left or right ideology in TOTAL?
Shouldn’t we be deciding issues on their merits, not the talking points of the latest party briefing?
Don’t we need a new political party that takes the “politics” out of the government.
How can we stand by and continue to lump everyone in a group, thus further dividing the country.
Have we gotten this damn petty and ignorant? It’s not us against them, it’s us against us. Don’t fear the terrorist, fear our own implosion.
Hell yes…lets start the “American Party.”
Where ideas aren’t based on cooperations profits or hidden agendas.
The real voice of the people!
End the political warfare now!

I wondered why Bush’s Policies did not work?
Question by bucktoui: I wondered why Bush’s Policies did not work?
Every time Bush says that he is going to do something good, then he turns around 180 degree doing the opposites. The best three examples:
“Operation Iraqi Freedom” After disposed Saddam Hussein and declared victory, he turn around and start OCCUPATION.
“Smaller Government” This is not just Bush’s Policy, it is the whole Idea of Republican and I like it too. But he turn around created the biggest agency ever “Home Land Security” and spy on every one in this country(USA).
“No more Free Pork” Government not suppose to give free money to its own people(Wellfare), but he turn around give $ 18 billion to the oil companies for free, free money for farmers not to produce wheat and other produces to control the prices. Do you see anything else that why his policies did not work?

The George W. Bush agenda:
1. Strike a deal with Osama to use him as a scapegoat for 9/11.
2. Hire well-trained middle eastern pilots to strike the WTC.
3. Blame Osama, and go to war in the middle east to steal and extract oil.
4. Oil stocks rise, Bush will gain money due to having invested.
5. Bush leaves office with boatload of $ $ $ .

Should Democrats trade the Jackass party logo to a Pig… to show for all the “Pork” they’re packing?
Question by Jay D: Should Democrats trade the Jackass party logo to a Pig… to show for all the “Pork” they’re packing?
Sen. Tom Harkin ( D-Iowa ) has shoved a million of American tax dollars into the 410 billion dollar omnibus spending bill to study Pig poop.
I thought the state or private entities should be responsible for paying for stuff like that, instead why is the government using our tax dollars to study pig crap?
What happen to Barack Obama’s promise to go “line by line” and cut pork and wasteful spending? Was that all just a lie?
If a million in spending to study pig crap is not considered to be a “Pork” project along with the rest of the 9,000 then what is?

If you lived near a pig farm, you would be very happy that “pig crap” was being studied.

Suggestions for President-elect Barack Obama

These are my suggestions for President-elect Barack Obama concerning the economy, family issues, literacy, crime, national healthcare, taxes & energy:
Job Creation:
New Deal-type initiatives like the CCC & WPA. These would create real jobs, paid for by the US government (you and me), repairing the national infrastructure; for instance, rebuilding New Orleans & the rest of the still-reeling and still often unrecognizable Gulf and Atlantic coasts. This would be trickle-horizontally economics, in that the living wages paid to these workers would be saved or spent by these workers, and in turn be saved and spent by the recipients of these workers’ funds, again and again, raising tax dollars over and over again for Uncle Sam, creating a big-time real return on our investment in putting tax-paying people back to work in worthwhile jobs. There must be zero tolerance and certain severe prison terms for any monetary wrongdoing by anyone involved in any agency created for this effort.
Family Gardens:
For families (and for the planet), we could encourage all able families to begin family vegetable gardens, to help families get back to Nature. They could use saved rainwater from water barrels for most of their irrigation. Working in the garden as families would bring families closer together, and they would get a better idea of how vital the Earth is for us. These new gardeners would have food to eat and they could donate any surplus food to their neighbors or to city shelters for the less fortunate. These gardens would create green space and make our air more breathable. By the way, a similar program was set up quite successfully in Great Britain at the height of the worldwide Depression of the 1930′s (The British Heritage, 1948), and to this day, if you travel by train through England, you can gaze down into all these tidy little backyard gardens, many of them having now been turned over to flowers.
Neighborhood Watch:
Create a new national agency as a central base for neighborhood groups interested in preventing crime in their neighborhoods. The neighbor groups throughout the USA could get together at certain times in the year to brainstorm for new ideas in neighborhood safety; and these neighborhoods could then pass along these new ideas to the national agency, which would then broadcast them nationwide over the Internet to all the other neighborhoods, for a tremendous pool of ideas. One idea might be zero tolerance for drug houses and laxer laws about prosecuting the inhabitants, shutting them down and boarding them up.
National Healthcare:
Our healthcare system is a mess of spinach. It couldn’t be any worse, so anything would be an improvement. I suggest a commitee of doctors & economists make a thorough study of all countries with national healthcare and borrow from those countries their best ideas and avoid their worst ideas. This way we can join the rest of the civilized world in the 20th century . . . and only one century too late.
Friends of the Library:
Our city has a Friends of the Library store. This is a store, staffed by volunteers, in which people from all over our city donate books for the “Friends” to sell, the proceeds going to the local libraries. The Friends take the books in the best condition and sell them in their small store. Other books, and they are donated thousands of them, are stored in a building two doors down and sold at three-day book sales twice a year. These sales are very well attended, and people leave with huge stacks of books, most costing from .50 to .00. The notion of a Friends of the Library store in cities all across the USA would be great for the country’s literacy.
Taxing big business:
Any company or business enterprise making over a million dollars in profit will pay a flat tax on their net profit (yes, in addition to any other tax they owe, if any), and it will be applied to the National Debt. This tax can expire whenever there is no debt. In the meantime, it would encourage businesses to stake out positions against all government pork-barrel spending. Don’t feel too sorry for businesses: many of them pay less (if any) taxes than does a family of four earning .000 per year. Related Reuters article:
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN1249465620080812
Cold Case Cowboys:
Retired policemen, detectives & other former government employees should be given the opportunity to volunteer to work on cold crime cases. Just bringing, say, four of these guys and gals together could represent 100 years or more of experience. Retired people often like to recall their work years, and this would be a great way for them to keep their hands in their old fields. This could bring long-awaited justice to many people and allow current law enforcement to focus on solving current crimes. This is not an original idea of mine; I got it from the Cold Case Files TV show and am passing it on in hope it could catch on nationally.
Energy:
There must be no government handouts or bailouts to any auto company to use for producing cars that run on gasoline; we have been too long on that deadend road leading nowhere. And you could talk yourself blue in the face and still never be able to convince me that our using up other countries’ oil while sitting on our own oil is somehow a bad idea; our oil could me much more valuable to us in the future than to squander it now for two dollars per gallon at the gas pump.

Obamas First 100 days–A Failure

Obamas first 100 days, Democrats Celebrate and scream of the accomplishments this Administration has performed in such a short time. Obama takes to the air for an Hour long Press Conference remarking on the moves the Prez. has made. Once again, if nothing else, Obama has proven that He is indeed a Brilliant spokesman, and there are indeed multitudes of individuals who are willing to celebrate “Nothing”!.
Exactly what is it that this President has achieved in his first 100 days that sets Him aside from the rest? Surely anyone can see that the support and praise Obama is receiving is worthy of an individual (President) who has made a great impact on the Nation and the People. What impact, other than the ability to “Swoon” the people has He achieved. Set aside the laughable nominees that this President has chosen for various positions, nominees that came with certain “Problems” I.E.–Taxes. Set aside Obamas promise to “Eliminate” lobbyists having power to sway decisions in Washington-remember Lynn? Obama condemned excess spending by the Government “Pork”, yet pushed a Pork “All You Can Eat” Stimulus Package. The brilliant plan to bailout the auto industry (Take Control) has proven to be little more than a joke. Billions given to G.M–yet they are still are asking for more, laying off personel, and talks of Bankruptsy. The abuse of the Bailout Program and Stimulus Package can be read Daily, was there no control outlined in this–but then do they care. Obama is spending money at an alarming rate, and is not protecting the peoples investment with a little something called RULES–see A.I.G.!! It is to soon to state the impacts that the Presidents Economic Hope Package will have, as it has only been 100 days, but given the speed implemented, and what seems to be the lack of carefull planning–one can only believe that this President and His Administration will fail, and just as his speaches are on a Grand Scale–so will be his Failure!
Obamas plan for a united world–don’t kid yourself, there are those that hate us, and no amount of beautifull words, handshakes or hugs will change that. Obama has made himself a welcomed American President–How? He has given numerous Nations what they want–The Apology Tour. Yes folks–We are the problem in Mexicos mounting Drug Lord killings. You see–they would not be having such a problem with Illegal Drugs if the American People did not have such a “Thirst” for them, nor would they have such a violence problem between these honorable drug lords if we didn’t supply 90 percent of their guns to them–which I might add is “BULL”–Hillary and President Smiley need to do their research before spewing their bull–at the cost of the people. Given Obamas need to Put Down, Blame, and apologize for actions our nation Has not committed, leads me to believe that Obamas need to be the “Man of the World”, a true World Leader is more important to him than the people who put him in office. Obamas Foreign Policy?–He apologizes for the U.S., and shows Weakness–Obama will be “Seen Thru” by the American People, and other Nations over the course of a couple years–Failure.
Well, there are a couple of my thought’s. I would be interested in hearing why we have so much to celebrate this Political Messiah, and what has He done or placed into operation that will yield this “Hope and Change”
